Id go with more than 4 colors of lead. Most lakes the thermal cline is around 30 to 35 f.t. And where most trout will hang out. Because that"s where the cooler water is and the most oxygen.If you can fit more lead core on your reel 6 or 7 colors. Would be better. In warm weather I usually use 5 or 6 colors. On smaller trout lakes.When water temps get around 70 degrees. There is usually a thermal cline in most lakes.And cold water fish need it to servive.
