Like many of you, I met John thru this website. I started faithfully following John's comments, insight, and helpful information on a regular basis, and became a much better fisherman for doing so. Not long after however, John stopped posting on the site. I know everyone has their own reasons for posting or not posting, but when you have someone like John stop using the site, and stop sharing all the knowledge and insight he was willing to pass along, we all lose out in the end. John understood all too well how helpful this site could be when used as intended for those of us who take Cold Water fishing seriously. He also understood how detrimental and unsportsmanlike it could be at times when the forum was used for the wrong reasons. In the end, the frustration was no longer worth it for John, so he stopped posting. Maybe we can all honor John in his passing, and honor his dedication to the sport, by bringing the site back to what made John so willing to share his knowledge in the first place.......
As far as fishing with John, I was only lucky enough to get on "The Barge" for one trip, which was last summer. While John may not have pesonally landed that elusive "Monster Salmon" that would tip the scale to double digits, those of us fishing with John that day witnessed something so special that I truely believe the ear to ear smile never did leave John's face. I certainly hope he's smiling now.......Fish On John...Rest in Peace.
