I've not since opening weekend, fished Alton bay Sat. 4th went 6 for 7 w/some nice Landlocks an a Bow. Sunday 5th, flat calm got skunked w/two bite.
I've been leaving Winnipesaukee alone until Corvid-19 slows, then I'll start my chartering.
Been bouncing between Sunapee, Squam & Pleasant (New London). Here's a couple Landlocks caught w/fly rods trolling sinking Salmon line. Down approx. 5' -10'.
Fishing mostly flys, bait this time of year. Temps in lower 40's making fish near surface. Get out an give those other lakes a shot. With mostly 5 - 6 YO's in Winnipesaukee those other lakes are fishing almost as good! Good luck, Capt. Bob Wyatt P.S. Let's see some pics of your efforts.
Cortland Sinking Salmon level line 6WT. Been using it for over 40 years. I've heard AJ's Bait&Tackle, FishUSA has it for sale...?? Been working for us!!!
I'm on board with Bob's reply, I always figured 5 to 6 ft down with most of the line out. They also sell a super sink that about doubles that which works well as the water warms or the sun gets higher
I’ve got those set ups already, I’m trying to have more of a distance between the streamers and the ski jiggers or the bait from the planer board clips, when wanting to be down 5’ from the surface. With one color out and 20’ of fluorocarbon, it seems to close to the boat.
