On the water at 7. With blue skies and calm conditions it felt too late already. Fished Meredith Bay. Chased some fish at 20’ that turned out to be smallies. Not a bite otherwise. We were running live smelt. I also had a tandem streamer on sinking fly line that I was working. Partner tried metal at one point and I tried a spinner. We stayed in the top 10’ mostly. Worked Paugus and Governor’s but the sun was far too high by then. Lots of hatches - midges and small mayflies. Little salmon chop late AM. Ran into anglers that had picked up a laker and a keeper size rainbow on the bridge side of Governor’s. Grateful to this community for keeping this board going.
You're very welcome Winni Salmon fisherman! My last winni outing last Saturday was very sloooow. Lost big Salmon at the net, dropped a couple more, brought one SMB about 4 1/2 lbs. Bass fisherman would be jumping for joy, my client loved it :-) I mostly fished the top 15' of water w/bait, flys & metal. The barometric pressure was dropping all morning putting the stress on all fish in the lake. Understanding pressure's like, as it moves around the world from west to east it's like a dog chasing it's tail. up, down, up, down, up..... you just gotta keep fishing! you see the barometer straight up 30 or either side, just try to be fishing. Thanks for posting. Myself & Captain Matty appreciate it for sure.. Cap't. Bob
