What would the ideal set-up be for casting giant popping and swimming plugs into the shallows at night for bass. I assume something along the lines of a med-heavy action baitcasting rig.I would be interested in knowing what brands people prefer. Joe G
i like diawa whisker ss spinning reels for this and use a 7 foot 6 pound test stu apt saltwater rod. i dont believe they make them any more, but it is a stout rod with a light live bait tip. while i do use some bait casters, i wouldnt at night. with the heavier rod i like a stretchier line like cortlands camo line
