I was looking at the fin clip part of this site.
I am not afraid of being called a dummy. and therefore not afraid to ask if anyone reading this to could explain in lame man term about this information, I know I probably should understand this but I don't so please explain if anyone can and will thanks
Hey there Forry, If memory serves me correctly if you go to the links on the left side of the board and click on new hampshire F&G it will show you somewhere which clips (fins) are which, Hope this helps Take Care God Bless and Tight Lines Dave!!!
In short the age of the fish can be determined by which fin (or no fin) has been clipped. Before stalking F&G Clips the fins of each year class stalked.
EX. This year (2006) every fish stalked in Winni will have adipose fin clipped so if in 2 years you catch a Salmon with an adipose fin clip you can examine the fish and determine the age based on weight and length using the chart...
