Guess some of the YoAdrien luck rubbed off on me... I took a friend out on the boat this morning (launched in Center Harbor) and we landed 5 salmon and a laker... lost a few others at the boat... (releasing them anyways, so that was fine)... and missed a few hits off the riggers.
Caught half on the leadcore 2-3 colors and half on riggers at 15 feet down and back anywhere from 50 to 125 feet...
Apparently we had a couple good lures on right from the start... picked the first two up with a rangely db smelt and an ugly orange top gun. The next few were on variations of the "Kenny G" that I taped up last night... the best of which was the "Colombian Necktie Variation"... and the last two were on "the Mixer" which I taped previously and also caught my only fish last weekend with.
We ran the "Sampson Special" for four hours without a hit on it... I couldn't bring it upon myself to change that lure... I had to try for John's sake. Sorry buddy... the green/blue changeup just didn't do it for us today. Don't feel bad though, cause I also taped up a "submerged canary" that I swore would have slaughtered the salmon... not one bite in an hour of trolling it.
Guess that's all the news I have for today... will try to post a picture of the one salmon my buddy kept for the frying pan...
Thanks to Adrien for the pointers yesterday... and the luck I must have stolen from his boat!

I would have to say "death by firing squad" is a very fitting name for that lure... You should have seen me laughing when I read that!!! Awesome...
The "Colombian Necktie" was actually a mistake... but it seemed to work as we had 3 fish on it...
It was a basic "Kenny G" to start... all the right colors... Then after the first fish hit it the backside tape started to peel off (you know which color's on back)... we figured the fish must have thought its guts were hanging out??? It took all action out of the lure but it kept on working. Go figure...?
Had a blast today and yes that was the best I've done so far... even had a chance to land a couple fish myself! Looking forward to a season of fun.
