What to do as the water warms up?

Just wondering what tatics are employed when the water temps increase nearing the summer.

Is leadcore line still a good method? fished deaper?

Are downriggers more productive? and again, deaper?

Any other methods such as jigging for them?

Thanks,
Brian

Re: What to do as the water warms up?

Most of us will run both lead and riggers. The key is to find the cooler water in the summer. Locate the thermalcline. In our home pond Sunapee its about 35' deep.you can get there with about 6 colors of lead depending on trolling speed etc. i would say about 40% of my fish last year were on lead, July and August. id run one rigger ( im a cheapy)and stack one line 6 feet above the other about 10' behind the ball and run the depth at 35' then run two leads at veried depth.then just duplicate what ever lures were working.
