I will be fishing for the the first time this year on the pond. Unfortunately Ive been busy with school and have had no time. I usually fish the broads between welch and sandy island. Just wondering how many colors lead core I should start at. I dont mind looking for fish but its half the battle to know how deep. Thanks much and congrats to all that won the derby. The few we picked up on leadcore were anywhere from one to three colors. However, we were having better luck on the riggers between 20 to 30 feet mostly... did boat salmon all the way down to 42' even.
If you know where Mount Alex is... we marked a ton of fish there during the derby. (They covered the whole top of it on Saturday!) Had a hard time enticing a bite after Friday though... but now that they've had time to settle down, you may get a good bite going right there.
