Report from the Cool Water

Fishing has been funny these past few weeks. Last Tuesday we went out I had a Charter and could not get a fish, we did have a few hits and a couple of rods pop but not one fish! Aka. the big Skunk.... In all the years I have been a fishing guide I have never been Skunked on a full day Charter! Don't get me wrong I have some bad ones but usually manage a fish or two. Than my Dad goes out the next night and catches three in moments???

This Morning we had a decent day weather was a bit foul but the clouds and wind were getting us some fish. I will post some pics soon of three nice Salmon that we landed today. We had a good time with some good action and lots of jumping Salmon!!!

We did best today on the riggers at 24-31'... five Salmon were caught on the Copper Orange Top Gun (wins for the day!) we got the rest on the Cool Water Cruiser (Top Gun) and Rangley DB. We also caught two on the boards running three colors of light lead. The fish seemed to be spread out getting fish here and there not in one spot...

Be out again Sunday... good luck everyone

Trav, I'm suprised you didn't say anything about the other (first time ever in Winni) brook trout.

Re: Re: Report from the Cool Water

Hey Trav, did you catch a brook trout? How big, because I caught a brook trout once in winni..

Brookies in Lake Winni:

I used to catch a fair number of brookies in Winni in May and early June. Caught them in Glendale by the Marine Patrol docks, Smith Cove and the next cove in (close to Rt 11.) and at the mouth of Gunstock Brook. Most were average size brookies, but I did get a few 14"-18" brookies. They would come in just for a brief period , 1-2 weeks at the most.
