Fished Moosehead Lake with buddy Jer in the areas of Spenser, Lily Bays, mouth of Moose River and Rockwood for 3 days, 44 fish caught. The majority (80%) of fish were Togue, one brookie and the rest salmon, no monsters…no pics. Of course we were fishing for salmon. Lake trout were caught in 25 ft of water with water temps in the mid 60 degrees, go figure. In past years the ratio of salmon to lake trout was 4:1. That’s fishing.
Moosehead does have an abundant supply of lake trout; as the bag limit is 5 lakers, 1 salmon and 1 trout.
