Yes I've caught them there for the last couple of years. Some guys mistake them for crappies. You can get lucky and hook onto a Rainbow or two that swim among the schools looking for eggs. Amazing the variaty of fish in that lake.
Took my 4 year old to catch some of those rock bass. She had a blast hooking up with 6. But daddy had to take the rod when the rod almost ripped from her hands. I wasn't being selfish but the drag was screaming and the current is tough back there. Nice 5 lb Smallie.
I caught first rock bass in the Winni River,in Laconia about 10 years ago. Because according to
NH F & G rock bass were not supposed to be in the Winni basin. They are in the CT River basin. More recently I've also caught rock bass in Lake Winni in the Glendale area.
