hook sharpening

Is there a tool I can get to sharpen hooks? I like red treble hooks but they are hard to find so I was thinking of resharpening. I found some eagle claw laser sharp red trebles that work ok but ive lost a few fish. The hooks on the db's are razor sharp anyone know what kind? Maybe I can get them in red. Does anyone else think red trebles catch more?
wayne,

Re: hook sharpening

Sharpening is definitely a good idea... I often find lures (brand new) have somewhat dull hook points. I believe in sharpening all hooks now and then. I keep a simple "pen style" sharpener on me when fishing. Very similar to the one below. It costs like $7 and the one I have has been in use for about 16 years now. Small price in comparison to time used and amount of better hook sets it has provided.

or probably get some other type at a local tackle shop or walmart.

Walmart also sells a sharpener similar to that called a diamond edge pen style sharpener, can be used for knives also and works very good, i use it for my hooks and my hunting knife's and it leave a sharp hook and a nice edge on a good knife.
