My little fishing partner and I got invited to go fishing with big John, Turned out to be a blast!!!!!!! Fish bit real good in the A.M. but short strikes fish were on for maybe a minute or two then off, got a couple huge smallies and then The King of the L.O.T.G got a nice Female Salmon 5 pounds 8ounces With might i add another Exceptional Netting Job done by LOL Donkey Dave (Maybe i should just stick to netting other people's fish instead of fishing LOL ) So Big John got rid of his Donkey But unfortunately i still have mine LOL That's okay still got 2 months to get rid of it LOL I'll let John leave the real good post later But just want to say Thanks a million John Amber and I had a blast!!!!!!!! I'm happy the Lake is coming around and especially happy you and little Amber could be there for what we hope will be the start of great finish to an unsual season.

I told you Saturday I was seeing a few things I liked, more suspended fish and bait pods, etc. and I felt the Lake was coming around. Those short strikes are a mystery (been geting allot of them this year ???) They could have made a good day a great day for Squam, we lost 3 heavy fish and did catch a few other shorts to boot. So Dave, you have had 3 trips to the L.O.T.G. now and saw fish caught over 5 pounds all 3 times plus lost a monster 5+ yourself. The best fishing is yet to come.

I'll give more details in a Squam report tomorrow, but for now, dig into you tackle boxes and pull out anything with Purple, polish them up and go fishing..

Only teasing Dave, you took 3 photos and all 3 came out great, thanks, but after all you had good subjects to work with.

I'll give a detailed report, including lead line with no spoon, etc. and a few secrets revealed.

I was going to suggest to Adrien that Dave's expertise at netting the big ones has earned him the right to take the Donkey off his back, but Adriens a hard man so I never suggested it..

But what better incentive to get out there and try for a 5 pounder. Don't worry Dave, your big boy is coming, just make sure you grab the rod that goes off before the next guy. It could have been your 5 pounder, you yelled at me to grab the rod and which one, etc.. Thanks.

Oh yeah you forgot to mention that we had your very first set of Doubles on your boat remember????????? and yes it was a great day, if we would have boated all the short strikes of the day it would have been a really awesome day!!!!! OK OK congratulations on a FINE netting job. BUT, I was always told a good netting was the act of the rod holder leading the fish INTO the net. If that is/was true, you'd think anyone could net? Just a thought...hehe.

So... am I the only one wondering??? Amber was with you two, but I don't recall hearing anything about the fish she was allowed to reel in? Don't tell me you made her sit back and watch??? You guys were afraid she'd outfish you weren't you? LOL
