walleye in Winni?

what harm would it do, if any if the state put walleye in winni? wouldn't they be able to reproduce naturally and if so wouldn't thier fry make a good food supply for the trout and salmon, plus provide another good game and table fish? I would think the size of winni all could flourish. Any thoughts pro or con?

Re: walleye in Winni?

My 2cents,leave Winni as is,but maybe try walleye is some other perch laden lake in the eastern part of this state.

Re: Re: walleye in Winni?

I agree do not play with mother nature in the Winni case.

Walleyes have been stocked in Lovel Lake in Wakefield, but have never heard if it was successful.

Re: Re: Re: walleye in Winni?

Seems as though its hard enough to find the balance of forage/gamefish as it is. Putting walleye in would more than likely cause a decline in the salmon fishery that winni is so well known for.
Another vote for keeping it as is.
Aren't there walleye in the Connecticut River?

Re: Re: Re: Re: walleye in Winni?

Yep wallys in Conn. River. Also F & G stocked some in Forest lake in Winchester they did'nt do so good. A friend of mine got a 6lb walleye out of Spofford Lake a few years back. Another case of some *#@@hole threw one in.
