In the Spring to mid-Summer we run about 100' that way we can use the same rod/reel set up on the riggers if we want. This time of year (today actutally) we change the line and shorten them up to 50', but I'm not exactly banging them, but we have in the past. Others I know use and recomend from 30 to 50 feet. Taking the advice of those that are banging them I would say 40 to 50 feet is where I want to be.
