Has anyone ever made the trip to Long Lake in Maine? I hear that they have some huge salmon. Is it worth the trip or is it better to go somewhere else?

It is located in St. Agatha and it is also my home lake.

Is it worth the trip up there? How long does it take from Bedford, NH? Do you catch many fish, or is it all day for one fish?

I guess only you can make the call if it is worth it.

From what I read on this site, I'd guess it is on par with Winni as far as numbers go. Bigger fish are a norm however.

Not sure where Bedford NH is but taking a WAG I'd say 6-7 hours.

I used to live there. Good Fishing.
Worth the trip. Even if the fishing is slow it is a great place.
In Hollis NH now, takes about 8 hours.
First week of june is a good time to go.
Good boat ramp with good parking.
Great restaurants too.

I live in Bedford. I am the guy that purchased bob nutters Penn Yan. I am a fishing tackle rep. I am definitely going to Niagra Bar this spring in late April. I want to go before the big derby. Too many boats for me.
