Eric I have 2 of those same rod holders if you want them let me know You can have them both for what ever you think they are worth that includes the pc that holds them in the rod bracket you get with your rigger they are just sitting in a box at home I had them on my riggers for less than a year so if you want them they are yours I went with the dual holders that go in the back of the riggers They have worked out the best for me the others I didn't want to take a chance on fishing with them at lake ontario There is to much pull but for winni they would be great. If you don't want them that's ok also no big deal. The only thing about the front holders make sure your riggers arn't back so far that you have to lean way out to get your rods in rough water it's not fun.
Gray Ghost I saw that thread I didn't know you were a member of that site.Billy V.always tells people of the time he almost lost his gear I have to agree with him if you hit a wave just right the holder pops out but thats pulling flasher fly and fishing down 100 feet + so there is alot of pull on the rods.I don't see a problem if they use them in winni I don't think you would have as much preasure on the holders You have in Ontario. But Heah What do I know. I also went back to the tube style holders and mounted them on the back of my riggers so now I don't have to lean over the boat to get to the rods.I hope the winter goes by fast the wait is killing me.Here is another site that you would like if you don't already have it for Lake Ontario Lake ontario united.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Rod holders for Canon Mag 10 downriggers
Erin / Gus: I guess I wasn't clear. I definitely want to look at options for dual rod holders on the back, not on the boom etc. I have singles of both the tube style (came with the riggers) and I bought the quick draws. I was wondering about the quickdraws. I've had a few screw ups and thought it was just my lack of skill. Perhaps the dual tubes in the back is the way to go. Its just what Canon offers looks so skimpy compared to Big Jon, Fishlander etc. so I was hoping to find other dual rod holder options that would "plug in" at the back of the rigger.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Rod holders for Canon Mag 10 downriggers
Eric No problem that vector rod holder is nice but I think it's not cheap $$ I have the cannon tube duals in the back I will take some pictures and post them I had the duals on the boom for years on my old boat but with the new boat the back holders worked out better and can even handle putting a dipsey wire rig in it to get it out of the way when netting a fish so they are much stronger than the Quick draws.Other than that you would have to put on a track system or put singal holders on the boat which would mean drilling Holes (I hate saying that Drill word).I will try to post in a little while.

I have a 2003 Lund 1800 Fisherman with a suzuki 140 4 stroke on it Go to showboats I'm the last one.It ran fine coming home in 6 to 8 footer on Lake Ontario so it can handle big water.I love it Hope this helps.
