There is a big difference between wire line and lead core.Lead core is weighted and will take you lure down to deep water by the amount of colors and lb test line you have.Wire line is used as a trolling line that has no strech and the Diam.is thinner that of mono line so you have less drag and no strech.I use wire line when trolling Divers like Lure jenson dipsey divers which are called controlled divers they are weighted so you can troll them right off the back or off to the side of the boat I mainly use mine in Lake Ontario.lead core is used every where it puts your lure very far from the boat so it's aways from the noise of your motor.Some days lead is the hottest line in the water.I'm no expert but this is just my two cents.
