Re: Re: Re: Some stupid Questions and some observations.
Like yu say you Baitman, you have to be confident in what your using and when they are on, "they are on", no matter.
I don't think the WD 40 or scents attract fish, it's the action and of course the ability of the spoon or whatever to attact them to it, once you get thier atention and they come up to check it out closer, the scent may help at that point.
I allways thought they just come up and smack it hard and maybe most times they do, but I've seen underwater films and they come up and soemtims follow your spoon for quite a while before they take a bite or turn away. The "Shark Cannonbal" video shows this pretty good.

I think it will be a waste of time (though very little time in the end) because a spoon is going to get a fish to react to the sight and hit it on either attack mode or feedng mode. Therefore, the chance of a scent line of e wd40 bringig the fish to the lure is not likely to be all that productive.
Then again, we all have our suspicions and if it makes you feel better and feel like you are more productive, I say do it regardless of what people like me say. I leave a couple rubber worms in my box of real worms while on the water, so maybe im wasting my time too. Oh well, ive done it, still do it and for watver reason, will continue to.
Re: Re: Some stupid Questions and some observations.
I guess that was my point, if it don't make any difference and the fish still bite, it would keep everything nice and shiny and I really don't like the smell and stickyness of the real scent stuff that much. We'll give it a try.
How's the foot. My shouder is allot better finally, I STILL GET A WICKED SHARP KNIFE PAIN iF I MOVE IT THE WRONG WAY, then it's ok. Before it was constant pain all the way to my wrist and under my arm, sometimes everywhere in that general area.
I'm hoping it gets better and better, but maybe that's as good as it will get, in either case I can live with it as it is now, get a shot now and then.

Not sure if you ever met my friend Tony? He and I had a discussion one day about wd40 and its affects on fish. He said he always sprayed a little on his lures... I never had. Anyways, next time he fished with me, he sprayed wd40 on both of his set-ups... I didn't on mine... We had nearly the same amount of bites and landings. It didn't seem to matter, but that was just a one time experiment.
wonder how that would work with old worn finishes on rapalas. with the price of replacing them now i was thinking of getting some epoxy and dipping them or painting it on.
