Just wondering if anyone has been out to bear island or out as far as six mile. And how much ice was out there

Working right by there and there were 18 cusk traps out there today. Must be ice? But saw no one check the traps during the day.

Tried making out to five mile and hit lots of water. One big pressure ridge right out of long island beach. Good thing we had the sled. Hit water 5 different places going to the island. Open water for 8 feet wide and 100 yards long around the island. the snow is hideing alot of water. Do not venture out on a 4 wheeler, becareful the wind is moveing the ice alot. Whats safe today may have moved by tommorrow. Good luck.
