Back in USA and Seminar and Article

Just got back from Snowmobiling in Canada with my Wife.

The trolling seminar at fish and game on April 5 at 7pm at headquarters in concord will be Conducted by Travis and I. It is open to the public and is free. For info go to www.fishnh.com

This will be a basic seminar covering basic tactics and rigging. The emphasis will be put on how you have to change tactics throughout the year to keep catching fish. It will be geared towards the beginner to assist them in becoming acquainted with downriggers, leadcore line, and other trolling equipment so beginners have a place to start when deciding to tackle salmon and trout, no matter the month of year. We will have equipment- rods, reels, lures, downriggers, releases. It will be a trolling 101 type seminar.

I would like to say GREAT JOB to Slipknot (Craig Butler) on his article about hunting pennsylvania. It starts on page 25 of the hawkeye. Great Picture too. It sure sounds like a place i would like to go hunting.

Now to the snowmobile trip. Full of emotions from Fear to Heartbreak plus Exhilirating Scenery and Joy.
Some highlights:
-Blew a hole in a piston the size of a golfball and nobody knows why. Obviously tore the cylinder up too. Get word to a relais and they called a dealer 30 miles away and came and towed me to a truck and took me to the shop. Then dropped me off at a hotel. I was at the shop at 2pm on monday with the dead sled. They tore the whole motor out and stripped it to the split cases put in new piston cylinder and lots of other pieces in french i didn't know exactly what they were. It cost me a $50 deductible because it was under warranty coverage. It was a $1500 job. I was back on the sled at 3pm the next day. The hotel we stayed at had the best gravy soaked hamburgers i ever ate so there's the silver lining!!

-Pulled into the Chateau Richelieu and Casino Charlevoix "A big castle hotel with a big casino" It sits on a cliff hanging over the St Lawrence Seaway. It really is a magnificent huge place. The hotel is a "Fairmount" Rooms were $200 per night for a brick wall view but the hotel wasn't very full(has about 1000 rooms) so i asked her to upgrade me for the same price and we got a great Seaway View for the same price. Grabbed a shower and headed for the casino to give away some money-WRONG- Dress code doesn't allow for carhartt jeans, Big snowmobile boots, and a camo Ducks Unlimited Hat!!! Sorry i don't carry an f-ing tuxedo and penny loafers in my snowmobile trunk!!

Overall 5 days on the sled and over 1000 miles we had a great time no matter what happened. After the sled blew up and was fixed it ran better than it ever has before. I think there was a defect from day 1 that finally popped out. First problem i ever had on a ski-doo 600sdi engine in 20,000 plus miles over 4 sleds. This one went at 2900 miles. I beat the bag out of it for another 1000 and it's great.

This picture is morning looking over the Seaway from Above the hotel in Charlevoix. Elevation here about 2000 feet above the sea. Picture doesn't do this view justice that trail goes straight down. My ears were popping as we went up and up. Seaway was packed with icebergs big ice-breaking tankers were going by. Bright sun you could see for miles. And only 10 below HEATWAVE!!

Hahaha... dress code??? Jeez! Guess Nadine was right... you need a bigger trunk for that sled! LOL

Great pic. Your trip album must be getting full.

Thanks for the "pat on the back".

I'll be in touch.

Re: Back in USA and Seminar and Article

They all break at one time or another no matter what brand you drive or believe in. Sorry to hear of the malfunction Glad to hear they got you back together and back on the trail riding.
