i just received my big john planer set up.when i purchased it i could not find the dementions for the base.well as you know its huge.it looked alot smaller in the pic..i cant check to see if it will fit my bow until the 25th.when i have the shrink wrap removed for my spring prep?i hope it will fit. but if not does any one know of a nother way to mount the base..or will i have to send it back....i hope not...any help would be great thanks JOE S...
Stalker: don't panic until you know for sure...but another option if you run into a problem with the big jon is the Fishlander planer mast. I just mounted mine last weekend and it uses a compact 4-in. x 4-in. square plate.
Stalker if you have a chair mount in the front you could take the chair off and try to mount it on that.I was looking at thoses what size is the plate that you mount on the bow it might be to big for mine also.

To add to Erin's help,If you do have a pedestal mount in your bow? Big John sells a pedestal mount that fits most pedestals. If you have a pedestal which their mount does not fit, they will gladly customise your pedestal to fit their mount. If these options are not applicable, do not hesitate to call Big John. They are very knowledgeable and accomadating! I bet they will get you set up.
