I finally got a few of those Guide Specials that everyone has been talking about......NH Guide color, Guide Special was the goto lure today. Caught 1 rainbow, about 6 runt salmon and 4 bigger salmon(three around 15-16" and one really nice 20" or so that tipped the scale at almost 3 3/4 lbs). No lakers, most on lead at 3-5 colors. Nice morning on the lake in the company of a neighbor's father visiting from North Carolina.....His first landlocked salmon ever...he did a nice job of handling that big one at the boat.....Many loons, just about had the lake to ourselves.....Tight lines to all.
I heard about those Guide Special lures too. A friend of mine grabbed about 16 fish up in Rangley on Wednesday. Would you be kind enough to tell me where to get some?
Certainly......I bought mine form Wolfeboro Bay Outfitters. He had lots in the NH Guide color and a three or four other color combos, $5 per spoon. I caught most of my fish on those NH Guides but one decent salmon went for the pearlescent green color. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tip. Went to Wolfeboro this a.m. and bought a few different colors. Picked up seven salmon, anywhere from 17 to 22 inches. The purple one with black dots seemed to work really well for me. Got three on that lure alone. Appreciate the tip on Guides Special lures!
