I would say this was the worst derby for me and my crew so far. It was a good time but the fishing was slow and the size was down.
We ended with around 40 to 50 fish landed. About 15 of those (all salmon) came in a 2-hour window saturday afternoon when the winds cranked up.
Biggest Salmon was around 2.8 lbs (caught Saturday) and biggest laker was around 3.5 lbs (caught Friday). A lot of small lakers and small salmon. Running live smelt normally the average size is larger but we caught 5 or 6 salmon around 10" which was a first for me.
Didn't bother taking any fish to the board as we were looking for the big one but we probably would have had a few in the prizes.
Putting fish in the boat normally isn't a problem. It's getting the ones that are 22" or better coming in at 3+ lbs that determine my derby success and we didn't get any of those this year.
