Re: Throbbin Rods calling Big John

How are you feeling Bill? Are you able to get out and fish?

Re: Throbbin Rods calling Big John

I am feeling much better. I've been working too much to fish!! Turned on the new software package I have been putting in at work, been trraining and trouble shooting. Now there are graduation parties, 80th birthday parties (not mine lol)and getting the new duck boat squared away and ready to go. Looking to make a trip to Sunapee in the next week or two, vet out the new to me kicker and riggers, then probably a trip to Champlain - with the numbers thosw guys are posting even I can catch some!!
thanks for asking - I really appreciate it

Re: Hey Big John, Here's an idea for your rigger ducers

When I was a kid, my grandpa was having issues with his ducer, so he jerry rigged an old crutch so that all he had to do was pull a pin (the ducer was on the bottom attached with a bracket) and lower it till it was under the water (took only a couple of seconds in the morning) and at the end of the day he would pull the pin again and bring it up out of the water. Fish finder always worked Great. I still have the boat, If I get a chance tomorrow I will take a few pics of it, I am sure you could do the same thing with yours. Take Care God Bless LOL Dave

Re: Hey Big John, Here's an idea for your rigger ducers

Bill when we hook up, bring it along, it's not an emergency type of thing, just want to make it easier.

Appreciate the photo if you can Dave.

Let me explain my unsual request for a "throw away" trolling motor bracket. My new riggers have a ducer of thier own so that it can tell the riggers of upcoming humps. As some of you Squam can be very dangerous with it's erratic bottom. We mounted the ducer on a special bracket off the front of the boat
so that the ducer would see the humps well before the riggers hit them. It works super, however the ducer has to be put on and off each time you travel faster than trolling speed otherwise it sprays water up, earlier it bent the orginal bracket. So we need a way of raising and lowering it easily whem a move is wanted.

Thanks for the response, still not sure what we are going to do, we are investigating all the options, in the meantime we will continue as we are, it's not that big a deal realy. But grandchildreb and comapny will be on the boat more (if the rain ever stops and gets warm, ugh) so we want to tidy up the front platform and make it easier.

Bill, take a break and go fishing.

You have an e mail about your ducer problem from a very reliable source.
