"Little Salmon River Challenge 2009"

The Little Salmon River Challenge on Lake Ontario will take
place out of Mike’s Marina on July 25th 2009.
It will be a $50 entry fee open to the public
families encouraged).
After a challenging day of fishing on Lake Ontario for some of the biggest salmon and trout in the world, bring the family by the picnic at Mike’s Marina East
for food and prizes (Tickets available prior to event
$10 adult or $5 for kids 12 and under).

Regulations for Challenge:
Challenge Control & Teams shall monitor Channel 78
All NYSDEC regulations in effect for this challenge
6 largest salmon and/or trout weighed in wins
(min. 21-inches) (min. 18-inch for Brown’s)
(Kings, Coho, Brown, Steelhead, Rainbow)
No Lake Trout or Atlantic Salmon will be permitted for weigh in
Any Port welcome to fish
Challenge rules meeting @ Mike’s Marina East 7:00pm Friday, July 24th
Challenge & picnic Sat. July 25th fishing to begin @ 5am sharp
Weigh-in deadline is 3:30pm sharp – Weigh Masters have final Ruling on size & weight
Prize Structure: ~100% Payout~
1st Place= 50%
2nd Place=20%
3rd Place=15%
4th Place=10%
5th Place=5%
*Youth Division Prizes ages 15 and under available also

This is a great event. I have fished it for 2 years now. Last year there were 106 entries. Small boat/ big boat...its all good. Great prizes donated. Even our own local...Savant Spoons and Chamberlain Releases are donating.
I will be willing to share whatever knowledge I have with any of the FLW crew. It was a rigger bite for browns last year. Salmon were hard to come by. Looks like this year might be a repeat if the weather doesnt cooperate soon. Rooms are cheap. $25./PP is about the going rate. Lots of kids prizes this year as well.

Brad, I want to pick up some savant spoons. i will be up ther for the last two weeks of July. Any recomendations on savant spoons???? Eric

You might want to pose that question to Adrien. He has been fishing them more this year than me.
You cant go wrong with the frog, glow frog in the Jake 45 size. I like greens and then glows. Purple can have its days out there too. The Crusher size looks good to me. Watermelon in the Savant size has been good in the past.

I am fishing on Team Seaducktion/ Dreamchaser. We are sponsored by Controllking.com. Look for us. We will be prefishing friday amd will fish half a day on Sunday before returning home. Not sure which boat we will be fishing out of.

If all goes according to plans yes. I will try to be there. We have family and friends that will be in and out all week so I may get stuck.

Thanks Brad but I'm all set. I run 4 riggers. Two coppers off the planner boards and two wire dypsies. I got a report from my buddy thats a charter captain out of Oswego that they got a couple 18lb kings today and marked a few more out in the deeper water. he thinks with this weeks warm and stable weather things should set up nicely for the kings in the net week. lets hope so!!!
