Left Portsmouth harbor on Cap't Thomas Yip's Polar, with friends Ben Glenn, and "I'm In". We were prepared to catch anything, but heard the mouth of the Merrimack was pretty snotty. So we stopped at the "Shoals" and jigged up lots of bait for possible Tuna chum and maybe a later visit to the Merrimack. Then we checked out Old Scantum. Thomas put us on top of plenty of cod right away. We hammered them for a couple hours. An electrical issue disabled Thomas' sonar, so we fished "blind" for the rest of the day. Thomas still found cod and a few haddock. Picked up more macks and pollack on the way home. Headed home with two coolers of fish for the freezer.

I had a lot of fun. It's been a long time since I went bottom fishing.
It was a shame we lost the other motor. I was looking foward to a chance at a Tuna.I've never fished for them before. Hopefully there will be another opportunity.
If this weather ever clears I will be chasing the Stripers & Blues in the Merrimack. My son and his friend want to go.
