Had a good trip up to Champlain last weekend with my dad. We left town at 3:30 and had lines in the water by 6.
Fish on by 6:05! It was a blast!
We had doubles right off the bat. Then another, just 5 minutes later! We thought it was going to be non stop all day but it slowed down after that... 3 more salmon and one brown were boated the rest of the day a couple really good hits, one that broke the line. Packed it in around 1 for the haul home.
All fish were incredibly healthy 2.5-3.5 lbs and fat!
Pulled a 5-6inch smelt out of the belly of one salmon we brought home for dinner.
All fish caught anywhere from 27-60 feet on the riggers. No action on the leadcore. Hot spoons were the needlefish copper with pink head and orange DB.
Thanks for the info Adrien and good luck up on the big lake!
I'll be heading up there again this week for another shot!
