Jigging, pulling, pumping, up and down

Home from vacation and finally got my log data all entered and sorted out.

Squam was at an "all time SLOW" the 11 days I was there, however it was a great time, quite a few nice fish caught caught inspite of the slow bite. Most were released some were grilled or taken home by friends that fished with me over the 11 days...

We had Paul Dubriske and his son Adam up to demo the G2Jigger Balls, we also had new rod Pumper from Jim's Graves and of course all my own crap including the Digitrol IV's downriggers.

So we had all the lines off the balls jigging back and forth and up and down at the same time using the Digitrols and the G2Jiggers. The lines on the Rod Pumper were also jigging back and forth all day long. We had a "whole lot of jigging goin on". We finally shut the "up and down" cycle off on the Digitrol as it was getting to confusuing.

Results proved when it's "REAL SLOW", the lines that move the bait back and forth, etc. catch fish, while lines that do nothing but pull bait through the water, do nothing but pull bait through the water.

I can't wait until we get a better bite, these jiggers and pumpers will produce when all others fail.

Paul is also working on a jigging planer board that we tested the same day, we will test a few for him soon, we used it for a while the demo day and it caught several nice fish before something broke and he has no spare parts for it with him, it was an older test unit that had not been upgraded in a while. At any rate the planer jigger caught a 7.4 Laker, 18" Salmon and a huge W.Perch before it died.

A 4+ pound Salmon was caught off the G2jigger ball and another short Bow.

4+ pound Bow was caught off the Rod Pumper as well as a few other fish.

Straight Lead core and stacked rigger lines were quite, nothing all day..

Bottom line is "keep your bait moving when it's slow" (or anytime)

Both the G2Jigger and Jim's Rod pumper caught fish all week, regular lead core and spoons off the rigger with no movement caught Zippo.

The Rod Pumper is a bit pricey (550.00) but well worth it, some guys have had them for 10 or more years, needs it's own 12 volt power. The Jigger balls do about the same job for less money, introductory price 100.00, next year they will be over 200.00 I think. No power is needed for the jigger balls.

So whatever your pocket book can afford, I would go for it if you are serious about catching fish. I went with both and plan to run them both at the same time. Both men are 110% reliable and stand behind thier products.

I have a few of the G2Jiggers I am selling for Paul Russ Johnson has a few to sell as well, price is 100.00, no shipping, meet me or Russ at the Lake.

Jim had knee surgery today and expects to be making more rod pumpers as soon as he is back on his feet, I have another one orderd myself.

Both these tools have been around quite a while (nothing new) the G2Jiggers are ready for and in production now after many years of trial, error and testing, Paul has them working super.. The Rod Pumpers have been working well for years as many of you know and are no secret. I'm realy surprised many more folks don't have both of them from what we saw this past week.

By the way, most all fish caught off these tools were caught with flies but spoons can be used too.

Cal, I'm heading up this morning, Doctors appointment in Plymouth, then fishing. If you can, hop on sometime this weekend and we can fish and I'll show you my balls (couldn't resist) I'm pretty much open all weekend.

Paul is sending me some more G2Jiggers today, I have one now and will have more by Friday afternoon.

Call me.

Sounds like you guys threw all the toys at those fish. Any pics or video's of what you did catch?

Videos (yuk) I don't do, too many and I don't realy enjoy watching them, some people do but I prefer photos. I have a bunch of nice photos but don't know how to post them and don't want to ask anyone else to do it for me, they would if I asked, but I'd rather not be a pain..

That leaves the Braggin Board, which I prefer, but I can't seem to get them to AJ, the e mail on the bragging board does not work for me (old address I think)????

I'll get them on somehow, we have allot of nice photos from the spring and more recently, etc. (five 6+ pounders)

Now that the Lake is in "slow mode" I should find a way to post them, maybe I'll go to posting school, lol but I prefer the bragging board, well see.

Re: Jigging, pulling, pumping, up and down

just got my jiqqer in yesterday, will be in the water saterday, cant wait. really was a quick delivery and looks much better than the early version down jigger fish with the parachute, much easier to use. were you using wire line on the pumper, im going to give that a spin on slobago this weekend as well, big fish seem to have dissapeared, not like the last couple years at all

They all swear by Braided Steel, I have a few set up but haven't put them un the water yet. Too much nw stuff to play with, maybe when things settle down, or maybe later today, lol.

If you have any questions, give me a call on the Lake 508-277-8899. Key is do not crank down the rod and try to keep speed at 2.5.

Keep me posted, allot of the guys are buying them, in your businees you will appreciate the mechanics of it.

Try his flies too, they are awsome and built to last and catch fish too, lol.
