I was wondering if you could post some pics of your special laker jigs and how you rig them. I'm heading to Moosehead for a few weeks and (beyond carpentry) I want to do some vertical jigging for the big ones in the secret spot I told you about. I have some oversized Sutton 61 type spoons; I was going to cut them in half, drill them and after painting join them with split rings to create "jointed" jigging spoons. I plan to paint them mostly superglow blues and greens since I'll be jigging deep. HOping my new Humminbird 997c will help me target them using the "Cool Water" methods you told me about. Any pics and misc. advice would be greatly appreciated.
Heading back up to the lake again this weekend and planning to get on the water as well; been doing the saltwater thing chasing bass, blues and school bluefin tuna...
Did have some luck earlier in the season jigging up some lakers using baited bucktails and soft plastic (white)on leadheads. Will probably give it a try again if the fish look stacked up on the finder...
