Hit Winni about 5:00 am, missed the exit, almost ran out of gas, hook in finger.... Fished the South end (as usual) and really had a great morning. Lines in the water about 5:20. Caught 4 salmon and 1 laker before all 4 lines (2 lead and 2 downrigger) were set. Running real low on gas, limped over to Roberts cove to fill up and take a break. Back at it until 10:30, then headed back to the ramp.
Total in the double digits++. Lead line outfished the riggers big time. 7-8 colors, 2.3 gps, running 2 orange head perch flies. The largest salmon, almost 21 inches was caught at 36 feet on a home made regular sized rangely DB. Caught a few on the white DB, red dots as well
No shorts, no rainbows, all quality, healthy fish. Kept 2 bleeders, all the rest released unharmed.
Going to eat well tonight.
It is everyones imput on this board that makes sport fishing on Winni so much fun.
