Great day on the water, it was like glass out there. In the morning the fog was VERY heavy. Once it burned off it was an amazing day. Someone forgot to tell the Salmon that they hadn't been fished for since last September and they were supposed to be going after lures. We were on the water at 530am, left at about 330pm...not a SINGLE bite the whole day. We trolled Meredith Bay, past Governors Island, up to Bear Island, circled the whole thing, then through Timber Island, Mark and Round, finally back over to Governors and over to the Weirs and back along the ledge in Meredith bay. Water temps were 44-50.8.
We ran mooselooks, DB smelts, tandem streamers with a dodger, Top Guns, etc....Had 4 lines with Lead on the planer boards, tried 1 color, 2 colors and 3 colors. Also 2 downriggers from 3-15 feet down. All lines had 50ft of flouro as leaders and speed was 1.5-2.5mph. We did everything we could but nothing got a fish to hit today. Banman, me and Brad were out there and gave it our best.
We were marking TONS of fish on the finder, but all seemed to be 30+ feet down.
You Guys should know better then to fish on Easter weekend Bad Luck I guess the devil made you due it hope the almighty is forgiven and don't put the Hex on Ya All for the Year LOL SS
Back out on the water today. It was slow- no fish- 1 hit on guide special at 3 colors- dragged hardware and live bait. Marked tons of fish and bait between 60 and 130 feet?? Tried to jig up a few with no luck.
I too can brag that i had no hook wounded fish. Just 1 hook wounded finger. 6 hours, 4 rods, no hits. But it was a beautful day. And Tessie was awsome for her first time out. Happy Easter.
Got one nice bow and my buddy got 22" beauty of a salmon that was almost 4lbs. My other friend got 3 salmon on Ossipee to 20 inches the same day. I stopped at the bridge in Wolfboro and had a few beautiful salmon smash my fly but missed each time. I guess I'm a little rusty. I did manage to catch a Mack dumptruck by the antenna on one of my backcasts. I released to to dump another day...
LMAO Joe, I remember a certain person towing the barge to Ames Farm for it's maiden voyage on Winni, also trolling down the road, unfortunatly he didn't catch anything besides a spooled reel LMAO Good Memories Take Care God Bless LOL Dave Who's still soak and wet from that day and trying to get the barge back on the trailer LMAO
