Follow up reaction from Ms Marivic Sipin-Soliven 75 re issues and concerns of Manong Conrad 64 and T
Dear Manong Conrad,
Thank you for expressing your concern regarding "fund mismanagement". It's a legitimate concern and I think many alumni, myself included share your sentiments. I have heard similar comments/complaints in the past but so far the incidents are within certain batches, i.e. the officers/coordinators of certain batches mismanaging their batch money. Awa ng Diyos, sa batch namin (Class 1975), wala namang complaints so far. I have several classmates in the U.S. who had contributed some money for our school project in the past & our extra batch money is deposited in the bank. In fact, we will be submitting half of our Alumni Hall contribution (PHP 22,500) this month.
Col. Fajardo, our UCNHSAA president time & again had always expressed in our meetings that his administration should practice transparency & prudence in the handling of the association's funds and being in the Directors Board, I myself would push that donations/association money should be handled properly. It's a challenge that the current Board of Directors group has to meet and I agree, the life of the UCNHSAA depends on this.
In due time, the association will have it's official bank account and I think later, it is wiser & safer to have donations abroad be sent directly to the associations' account instead of giving it to certain solicitors.
Regarding the alumni hall project, it is certainly an ambitious one but many batches had already pledge their support. I believe we can realize this dream.
Please continue to keep in touch. Hoping to meet you in the future. God bless.
Marivic Sipin-Soliven
UCNHSAA Vice-President
