I have inherited a large chair with a double opening door under the seat. On the chair back there is a carved battle scene and there are thistles carved as decoration. The motto LOCK SICKER is carved over the opening doors of the cupboard.
I have photographs. Can anyone please help me with dating or finding out a bit more about this seat?

Lock Sicker, as you probably know, is the motto of the earls of Morton.

But I cannot help with dating the chair.
