mains castle at fintry

My research tells me the Earls of Douglas owned the lands here in the fourteenth century, and I believe, but not certain, that a stronghold of some sort must have existed before the present castle was built in c.1562.
Was it originally Mains Castle or and when was Fintry added.
I believe an original fortified building stood here in the fourteenth century, which was the rebuilt by David Graham in c.1562. He probably used the stone from the original Castle.
I hope someone can let me know the answer.
I am currently and have spent the last 32 years compling information of the Castles of Great Britain and Ireland.
I have a list of 10,500 castles. Scotland has some 1900 Castles and another 400 towers that are castles, all but in name.
Please feel free to contact me.
I work nights, so weekends I devote to my hobby.
Kind Regards
