It seems apparent that Agnes Douglas, who married William Keeney in New London CT. in 1627 could not be the daughter of Deacon William Douglas who was born in 1610. She was born, according to New London records, in 1599. Her father, shown in several genealogies is also a William Douglas, but he has no date of birth, death, or spousal information. Does anyone know who this William Douglas could be? This website shows a date of birth for Agnes Douglas who married William Keeney of 1637, which would allow Deacon William 1610 to be her father, but then she could not have married William Keeney in 1627, ten years before she was born. One vague possibility is that she is an out of wedlock daughter of William Douglas, the 10th Earl of Angus. He certainly had a colorful career. Any insights would be appreciated.
