Have been reading your account of Ed Bicknell's career with great interest! Tell Edward that I thought it was me who formed The Spartans!!! -Never mind, I've been thrilled with his success! Please give him my very best and tell him I regret chickening out playing Hava Nagila behind my head when we were once in a Rock Band competition!
Edward was a great drummer who could reproduce Tony Meehan and Brian Bennett's drumming, note for note! -He was unique in our circle as he was actually learning the discipline of drum music! With the foundation of his precise rhythms, we produced an exceptionally good 'Shadows' sound! -I think when we first formed the Spartans, Edward was probably 12 years old!?! Some good memories of great times!
