Moving from XP to version 7

My husbands bought years ago Online Bible's discs with NIV and NTL versions of the Bible. He hasn't been able to install on V7. I tried on the laptop as well with no success. Trying to download I get the message V3.0 upgrade MUST be installed.
So how do I get any version on and then how do I get the NTL back?
