Hi Joe, That is the way the CMU Close the Center Parry started - lo those many years ago - just a potluck with CMU's furnishing the main dish and everyone's bringing a dish to pass. It was that way for several years before Joe, Gwen and Jodie started performing. Personally, I liked it that way!!!

I remember the music beginning, too. I think the music was a reward for the honors program students, and it turned into a party for everyone, including some of the younger Island youth. Next time I see Jim, I'll ask him if he's going back to the old tradition or not.
