Re: ICTA

Hello Amy, thank you for your letter and I feel that yes, it is important to check on creditability. Esp. if your children are going attend a camp or academy. At the moment I have requested a telephone conversation with the Director of ICTA. I will post addtional information as I have it. I know nothing about the ICTA outside of the postings on our website, their website. No one I know personally has any knowledge of ICTA. Please feel to contact me.

I am interested in the ICTA. I have two boys who have begun competing in junior tournaments and take lessons currently with the club pro. It's truly a great option for Christian families to have an academy interested in helping develop the spiritual and physical needs of atheletes. However, I am concerned that there is no physical address for the facility nor recommendations by any reputable Christian leaders. My husband and I do not want our children to be influenced by anyone who does not have the endorsement by someone we can contact for reference. Is this Academy recognized by any reputable ministry. Why is Scott Paschal's picture and the actual location of this academy not revealed. Is there anyone we can contact who can verify that Scott Paschal is who he says he is. In this day and age we cannot just assume that someone is a Christian just because they say they are. If my kids go to any academy or camp, I need to know that they are going to be safe and their Christian faith not compromised. I hate to think of the posssibility, but if parents don't first question and investigate the integrity of ones they entrust their children to influence,it could have devastating consequences.

We can't just assume our children will be safe just because someone is SAYING all the right things. We should ask are they DOING the right things. I read all the info on the ICTAtennis.net website and it's great. How wonderful it would be to help my boys share Christ through tennis and to learn to play their best for God's glory! But how awful it would be if the influences of the academy are not what they seem to be. Is Scott Paschal married? Does he have children? Is he involved in a local church ministry? How about his staff? What's Scott's tennis background? Where did his staff come from and what are their credentials and references?

I really don't like to be so cautious, but I have to be when it concerns my kids. My Mother never had to be that suspicious of people that worked with kids when I was young, but it's evident that we sure do need to now.

Re: Re: Re: ICTA

How did Amy's inquiry "attack" the ICTA...how was it "vindictive" and "slanderous?" It seems to me that she was supportive of the need for such a ministry, but only voiced parental concerns that should not be ignored. Scott Paschal may be the "nicest guy" like other e-mails have described him to be.....but even the "nicest" of guys need to be spiritually accountable to someone...especially those who work around kids. How is it "spiritual warfare" when a parent expresses a need to know something more about a Christian organization other than just how "great" it is? It would be great if we could trust every person and ministry we encounter at face value. But the simple fact is that if we do we risk harming our children and families. Those who send their children to the wrong schools and colleges have painfully become aware of this. Those who trusted "great" priests to counsel their children suffered because of this. All Scott Paschal needs to do is to just honestly inform everyone as to who endorses this ministry, who is he is accountable to and exactly where, when and with whom all of the activities and work he is involved in takes place. The Complete Player Institute does this without apology or resistance.

Even Billy Graham has spiritual advisors to whom he is accountable. As long as we live with the possibility of human failings, we must have others in our lives to help guide us to abide by scriptural principles. In my opinion, Amy doesn't "hate Christian tennis" as the writer of the e-mail suggested, but rather loves her children and loves Christ and wants the best for her family---a family that would enjoy the camaraderie of Christian fellowship and witnessing opportunities in a sport they also love.

Rev. Kraft and others,

I did speak with ICTA. This is what I learned.

There are often attacks on Christian organizations by those with non Christian agendas. Mr. Paschal is a real, living person. I highly doubt the "Amy Osterman" who wrote this attacking message is a person whose real name is Amy Osterman. Most likely this is an attack by a "wolf in sheep's clothing."

The person who wrote this vindictive message obviously has an agenda against Mr. Paschal. He or she could have just as easily contacted the ICTA, right? He or she could have easily found answers to these attacking, agenda laden questions with a simple email to the ICTA. But instead, they chose to post here! The ICTA said they have never had contact by anyone named "Amy Osterman!"

As I have contacted ICTA, they have informed me that there is an individual who had posted negative, slanderous emails on different message boards.

They say internet attacks usually happen 2 or 3 times per month. Usually, it is a person who hates the idea of Christian tennis. There are also vindictive coaches from other academies. ICTA is a ministry that gets in the trenches for God. That often leaves them open to attack by cowardly groups or individuals! I applaude ICTA! And so should we all!

As the owner of this tennisministry, Rev. Kraft, I would expect you to be more protective of persons/groups promoting Christianity to the world!

Have you contacted ICTA and let them know they are possibly under a spiritual warfare attack within your messageboard?

Or did you just feed the ego of the person(s) attacking Christian tennis?

Re: Re: Re: Re: ICTA

I've written an article about ICTA, which can be found on tennis.info. I hope that it helps in your search for answers to some of your questions. This article is based on my experiences with ICTA and their leader, Scott Paschal. My hopes were and are for people to make up their own mind and draw their own conclusions regarding ICTA.

God Bless You All,

Re: Time to grow and begin supporting

Hello Phil, I am sorry to say that at this point I can support ICTA. I have checked very carefully the claims that they have made, such as tennis training centers worldwide, world class tennis players working with them and other claims and have not found any substance behind them. I have asked for information such as church membership and contact and have been refused. Lastly thier website in the past promoted players as Christians who were not believers and two players were well know Jehovah Witnesses. This has since been removed.

I would be happy to hear your experiences with this group. While it appears from your comments that you do not extensive experience with them, you do you mention that Academy. Where is it, city and address? Please do contact me at my email kraft@tennisministry.com with your phone number and I will call you to discuss your experiences and this will assist me to have more information on this group. In the meantime I am removing refernces to ICTA from my site until I further proof of their claims.

Re: My coach!

Could someone please explain how "Amy" or "concerned parent" has "attacked" the ICTA? Why would "Katia" and "tennis pro" refer to them as "wolves" and "cowards?" Why are they referred to as "liars?" It's puzzling to me why "Katia" would threaten to have her father who will "pay much to find this gutless wolf attacking " her coach. I have read and reread and read again what "Amy" and "Concerned Parent" have written and I don't see any "attacks" or name calling....but, there is alot of that kind of implications and wording in "Katia's" and "tennis pro's" messages. Why is "Katia" and "tennis pro" so hostile....it's rather disturbing....and even a little "scary."

It seems to me that God has planted two ministries in Florida with the potential of doing a great work for the Kingdom of God while at the same time helping juniors and aspiring pros become the best God made them to be. What would TRULY be a testimony to the love of Christ is for these ministries to join together in mutual commitment and support. They could each become stronger and more influential together. The ICTA could certainly learn from the Complete Player Institute in how they are not "secretive" about anything and don't accuse those who have questions about their work and ministry as being "wolves" or "liars" or "cowards" etc. I'm sure that there are perspectives and ideas that the Complete Player Institute could implement in their organizational structure and outreach as well that could be gleaned from association with the ICTA. It's great that Katia has "found God in the ICTA, but someone from there should respond to these "weird" and "strange" responses that have been posted on the message board.....Rev. Kraft, what's your perspective on all of this?

I am Katerina Yvkenoia. I am former russian #3 juniors years last. Scott paschal is coach for me. I am playing USTA professionally in ICTA team. I found God with ICTA. My picture as well as picture with teammates will on website Oct.7. My team has 8 WTA teammates. My coach is best. He is the most smart and loves all players. Even other players not on team. My coach teaches about God first, then tennis. This good. I watch him coach many, maybe 20, WTA players on tour. Coaches go to my coach, Scott paschal, with questions. Scott answers and helps all.

This "concerned Parent" is a coward liar and wants to only hurt Coach scott. This" Amy Osterman" is not a real person and is also posing as the"concerned parent" You are a coward and a liar. I will respect you none. You gutless wolf attacking defenseless persons. Are you from rival academy? Cowards. Are you abuser of teammates? Coward.

My coach, Scott paschal, I glady give you picture with and teammates recently, 2 days ago. Visit on internet. Coach scott does not brag and boast. He only works and works. We are are important to him, not himself. He gives all efforts to us each and all day. My father has much and will pay to find this gutless wolf attacking me by attacking my coach. You will see my picture and know I am not a liar as you. I will be top 50 WTA soon and you will still be a wolf, I will tell all about God. My coach, Scott Paschal, and my coach Melody Snelen are for me. They are best.

Re: Re: ICTA response

In reply for your request to find out information on the ICTA organization. I have contacted several times, the ICTA Founder, Scott Pascal by email and he has replied. I requested the following information. 1. Exactly where is the training academy located? 2. What is your tennis background? 3. What are the churches that ICTA currently works with? 4.What are some ministries that ICTA currently works with? 5. What is your address?

As of this date, he has refused to provide any of the following information?

I feel that any person doing tennis coaching, establishing a tennis ministry and esp. a Christian tennis academy should

willingly provide this information. I believe that these are relevant questions that everyone should ask before sending their

children to a Christian coach or camp.

I will provide any further verifiable information as I receive it. As a side note I have had to ban their message postings from this message board as I felt that the replies were not appropriate for this ministry.
