thirsty floodmaster

when the soviet troops marched into prague in 1968 radio tirana of albania had commented the invasion with the words : if they should have dared this to us we would have pushed them tumbling back into the east sea.

i watched the tv evening news on sunday october 6, 2002 and they said that a lockmaster from tirana was entering a pub asking for a drink as he was thirsty. the pub owner refused to give him a drink and so the lockmaster said that it would be fine with him as he would try to get one somewhere else. after he had left the place he went down to the floodgates, opened them and the water sluiced into the city where it filled up many cellars. the tv camera showed tirana standing under water.

thus the albanias didn't need to push troops into the east sea any longer. thanks to the floodmaster the water just came by itself.

Re: thirsty floodmaster

On a related note, a few days ago the newspaper had a little article about how Boris Yeltsin was an honored guest at a brandy factory somewhere in Russia. To commemorate his visit, the brandy factory gave him a gift of Yeltsin's own weight in brandy - 286 pounds, it said. According to this article, Yeltsin wept with tears of joy when the gift was announced.

The young Marx wanted every man to be an artist. Little did he know that the real ambition of politically minded men is to be given their weight in brandy. If only the Czechs had thought of giving Brezhnev his weight in brandy, he would've ordered the tanks back to Moscow then and there. Carrying the brandy, of course.
