Need help with Wisconsin Divorce need it to end as in now!!!!

I am getting divorced in Wisconsin and moved to Maryland with our son with the courts permission. The father did not try contacting us even when we were 20 min down the road while we were serperated. That was close to 9 months ago and I need this divorce to end, the only thing holding up the process is that he refuses to decide placement and custody we are almost to the trial point but I can't wait that long does any one know anyway to help this along fast to finalize it by the end of the month (I have a lawyer he is good but can't seem to get it finalized)

Re: Need help with Wisconsin Divorce need it to end as in now!!!!

My stbx has held up our divorce for a year now, he refuses to sign the divorce papers even though he lives with his girlfriend.
Hopefully you filed No fault...that can get you a divorce in 90 days in most states.
My first attorney messed up and didn't file no fault and now I'm stuck married to a jerk for the next year until I can take it in from of a judge and force him to sign.
One good thing is you have a good attorney. My new attorney is using the almighty dollar to get mine to sign...hope it works.
Best of luck to you honey!!

Ask your attorney if your state has a limit on the amount of time from filing until manditory decree. My state does not and mine fought me for three years....all because he did not want to allow me to have a divorce unless I paid him lifetime spousal support, it was horrible and my greatest sympathy goes out to you for what you will have to go threw.
I have met many women in my state who tried for several years in my state and finally just gave up because they could not continue to pay an attorney to fight for the divorce. One women waited seven years...she ended up getting hers.
I am so thankful, three years later that I did get my divorce and the major expenses associated to having to fight the sob are done.
