I need some input! My attorney, after looking at our taxes and filling out all the forms claims that I would receive aprox. $1500 per month in alimony. My husband's attorney, who looked at pay stubs claims that I should only receive $350. How can that be? Is it two attorney's looking for money by creating a fight? Who is more accurate? Help!!

The court ordered my alimony based on his income, my income AND the cost to maintain the household. They figured the household expenses, subtracted the child support and my income (actually my income potential since i was not working at the time) and came up with the amount of spousal support that should be paid. I am in NY so I dont know if laws are different or if it is up to the family court judge based on his/her own determinations.
