My divorce was filed over a year ago, this has been a long process. I just received word that my soon to be X has finally signed the papers.... Now enters the next issue... his attorney will not release the papers to my attorney becuase my soon to be X has not paid his bill and has made it known that he will only pay his bill at $25 a month. SOOOO frustrating, does anyone know what my options are. I asked my attorney and they said all they can do is ask and wait on the papers... I guess I am having a hard time believing that his inability to pay his attorney should stop me from getting a divcorce... uuuggg any other ways to get this done so his attorney can deal with him directly and not affect me from going forward

Depending on where you live, the court filing(s) should NOT be affected by either party's non-payment of their attorney. If he continues to stonewall you on this, I would suggest that you call the court and see if there's anything they can do. Good luck!

Ask your attorney for a copy of the papers. You or a friend take them to husband and have him sign them without going thru his lawyer. Then mail them to the family court. You are done and don't need to pay those lawyers to do this for you.
