I am so scared with our dividing assets. I know where all the money is and we have divided it on paper. We will be seeing a lawyer next week but what if I don't have enough to live comfortably? I am 57 and too old to go back to work.
I also see my lawyer for the same & also scared of not having enough to survive & my stbx & his bs spend it all why I suffer for his infudelity...We stood behind these men all these years to just be thrown out...I hope & pray you come out fine when it is all & done...
This is definitely the most worrisome part of the divorce for me too. I am 54 and work part time, but cannot afford our house, and it's way too big anyway. So we selling it (I hope!) and splitting equity, but I worry if I can qualify to buy something myself, and rent is so high. And the court system seems to be in their favor, not ours. Will get one year of support, but since I get half his 401K, the judges say that's plenty since I get the retirement money. I think it's crap. So does my attorney, but has had this happen to other women our age.
