I've been a stay at home mom for 7 years. We have 2 kids. I had no job, I can't drive so I don't have a license but do have a permit my husband never let me use. We live in Kentucky but I want to move to Texas to be with my family but he tells me I can't do it because I don't have any income, it's better to stay together because I can't do anything. Can someone help with some advice on how to get custody of my kids and what my options are about state to state. I need this done
Surely he will have to pay towards your children if you separate anyway? If u can get to live with someone til u get anyone feet my advice is to move out. He sounds controlling and it's no environment for your children let alone you.
Sarah: I agree with the other person. Your husband sounds controlling (and abusive). Try the Domestic Violence Hotline when he's not home. A Judge will decide if you are divorcing and cannot afford a Lawyer. My family helped pay for a Divorce Lawyer and maybe yours can, too. Mostly, custody of the kids is 50/50 these days and the parent cannot leave the State with the kids.
