I have a very similar situation, (my soon to be x has taken everything; money, car, clothes, pets, things, savings, 401k.. everything and I truly never saw the divorce coming) you are not alone but you need to put your emotions to the side right now and be smart.. esp if there is money that he will def try to go after.. can you "gift" the money to your sister or someone.. can you hold off on that lawsuit finalizing until the divorce is done.. please please don't let him take that money esp if he left you with nothing.. do what you can to set yourself up but please do not be nieve to think that he is going to "change" or be a "good person".. he will do everything in his power to take your money so do what you can right now to protect yourself.. again you are not alone and I know you are so scared right now but please do what you can, speak with a lawyer asap. thinking of you right now and sending some hope your way that you do not end up losing everything as i have..
