I’m seeing the second attorney on Tuesday they sound great but retainer fee is $5000! My stomach is in knots all the time and I’m stressed! My husband is going to freak out, I won’t be able to afford the house I’m in and will have to find a place to live and I’m scared! The first attorney said I will get alimony for sure but I’m just so afraid of being homeless. I do work and my husband have a very good job. My credit score isn’t that great 650, but hopefully I’ll be able to pay off some bills when this is all done and I’ll be in a better place. Any advice??
It is scary, but it does not sound like you will be homeless if you're entitled to alimony. You may have to live not as "well," but is that worth being in a bad marriage? At least the decision will be yours and you'll be in control of how you deal with things - it could be an opportunity for a better life.
