My divorce was 8 years ago but my ex is still fighting for sole custody after I got 50/50 about 3 years ago. The child lives with him full time and sees me every other weekend in the neighboring state. Has anyone ever been through a trial? I don’t know what to expect, like are we going to talk about current issues or stuff that happened 10 years ago? The trial is two days next week and my attorney doesn’t answer my questions. This is in the state of Louisiana and my ex is a child custody lawyer just fyi.

Sounds really difficult for you. The judge should be fair and follow the law. What about the best interest of the child having a relationship with both parents. Do you have any idea why your ex is trying to do this. Does he or you get child support. Best of luck to you.
